Bethesda, Md. — Streetsense has formed a partnership with McLean, Va.-based Capital One Financial Corporation to develop the company’s food and beverage program for its first airport lounges. The Capital One Lounge will open its first location at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) later this year. Capital One selected Streetsense to develop the food and beverage vision and guest experience, including regionalized menus, grab-and-go programs, retail strategy and branding.
“When designing the new Capital One Lounges, we talked to customers and industry experts to understand what works and what doesn’t in the current travel environment, and sought to create something different for travelers,” says Jenn Scheurich, senior director and head of the Lounge program at Capital One. “We selected Streetsense based on their track record of developing iconic, customer-inspired spaces and touchpoints.”
The new Capital One Lounges will feature contemporary, light and airy layouts delivering a premium in-lounge food and beverage experience, including delicious, health-conscious eating options that are served plated as small bites via full-service dining stations rather than buffet style. All food is fresh with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, sustainably packaged premium grab-and-go selections and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. The in-lounge experience includes a fully stocked bar with craft cocktails on tap, local beers and regional wines, and a full-service coffee and espresso bar at select locations.

Streetsense plans to open a second location at Dulles International Airport (IAD) in 2022.
